An Intro on the Art of Self Healing

I’ve hesitated to write about self healing for nearly four years now.

I guess I didn’t know where to start…self healing is an enormous topic with many nuances.

But today I’ve finally decided to just start writing about it, because withholding this information is doing many of you a great disservice.

Although I am formally trained in acupressure and other forms of energy healing, I do not consider myself an expert or a “guru” in this area.

I am just a guy who’s been doing self healing all his life, especially over the last four years, and getting great results in the process. And, let me tell you, I’ve seen some absolutely astonishing things.

I think the most important thing to know about self healing is that the term itself is actually misleading, at least in my mind.

In my mind, you’re not the one doing the healing: your body is.

That’s right, your body is designed to heal itself.

Don’t believe me? What happened the last time you got a scratch?

Oh…did your body heal it…amazingly?

Well it turns out the body is great at healing all sorts of things, not just surface wounds. By allowing the body to undergo its natural healing process, you can fix everything from injuries to illnesses to unwanted behavioral patterns to even financial instability.

Maybe it’s just coincidence that my business took off right around the same time I was doing lots of healing work on my power chakra…but I can’t help but think that there might be a notable connection.

At any rate, self healing has allowed me to literally transform my body in some pretty noticeable ways.

In addition, possessing the knowledge on how to heal myself has given me so much peace of mind.

And it’s also given me a better quality of life.

It just feels better to exist in a healthy, loose, and relaxed body than it does in an unhealthy, tense, and stressed out body.

You have more energy, better relationships, and more success when you’re flowing in your ease.

As many of you know, this is almost impossible to do when your body is in pain or isn’t functioning efficiently.

And the number one reason why bodies don’t function optimally is because of “stuck energy”.

You already know about tension, strain, soreness, and stiffness. You also know that exercise can eliminate all of these when done properly.

This can be achieved through yoga, dance, martial arts, running, working out, etc.

These activities are all designed to help you move the energy in the body. Because when energy flows freely, the body is healthier.

Remember that the body heals itself, as long as the energy has the opportunity to move. But after years of inactivity, muscles and cells begin to calcify, meaning that the body will have almost zero chance in healing itself.

That’s why it’s now your job to remove the blocks and break loose the stuck energy before your body can do its part.

When self healing, remember that you want to give your body the best chance it has to cure itself. This means of course having a healthy lifestyle with lots of water, sunlight, and a good diet.

But it also means you need to stop putting unnecessary chemicals on and in your body or around your space.

You also want to be mindful of your energy levels and be vigilant to not spend energy on unproductive, negative thoughts that consume so many of your body’s precious resources.

Give your body the best chance it can have by eliminating all the other tiny little factors that sap the body’s energy levels.

From there, you just need to do something to get the energy moving again. You can lightly rub, tap, massage, or hold points on the area(s). You can stretch. You can dance. Heck, you can even sing.

It just depends on what you want to heal.

Be creative.

Whatever it takes to get the energy flowing again. Just get the energy moving and your body will handle the rest.

Try, if you can, to consciously direct your body’s resources to the area that needs attention.

Do this every day for at least ten minutes and you’ll see some enormous changes in your life in as little as a week or two.

In future articles, I’ll go more into detail about a few of the methods you can use for common ailments.

    Cool article!

    It’s really timely for me and I like the perspective you’ve got on self-healing.

    I’m constantly moving more into naturopathic healing and destroying so many old beliefs I was raised with about the doctors, surgery, cancer, sickness, diet, and exercise. It’s insane to realize how much progress I’ve made in the last year with every single aspect of my life.

    If I was never introduced to some of my awesome friends in these arenas, I might have never known of so many alternative ways that are completely contradictory to the ways I was brought up to “heal” problems AKA mask symptoms!
