Gain the World. Keep Your Soul.

“What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?”

Matthew 16:26

There is no shortage of phrases that denounce material possession.

If you’re reading my blog you’re already familiar with the trappings of worldly attachments.

But it is not the possessions that trap us. It is our attachment to them.

There’s nothing wrong with enjoying this life and the pleasures it offers.

Yet if you gain the whole world and lose your soul then you’ve given up the greatest treasure of all.

You’ve given up on spirit…on the true creator.

You give me somethin’ way beyond revenue
You put the magic in me
I feel the magic when we do what we do

-Billy Squier

The creator gives you life.

It gives you free will.

It gives you the ability to create.

You cannot live without the creator.

You can’t will.

You can’t create.

You can’t even breathe.

You can’t exist without the creator.

So why do you keep trying?

Why do you keep making decisions – and keep having thoughts – without feeling the magic of the creator?

Oh, wait…

…I know why.

Because your ego has stolen the show.

When you focus on your ego, you lose focus on the creator.

And when you lose focus on the creator, your creations are less impressive.

Your ego can only create inferior things that don’t last.

But that which comes from the eternal creator will always find its way into eternity.

The name of the game is love. When you create with love, you create in eternity.

Once you see this power, you won’t want to go without it for too long.

I can’t do without you for too long you’re my situation. I can never doubt you for too long I can’t see no reason. I been thinkin’ ’bout you for so long, I don’t want to lose ya.

-Billy Squier

All true power comes from the creator. When you see this, you’ll want to stick around.

You’ll become less interested in following the ego and all the “brilliant” ideas it has.

The creator or the ego…at any moment you are choosing between one or the other.

The ego tends to destroy…to consume. The creator tends to create…to provide.

You cannot simultaneously serve two masters any more than you can simultaneously ride on two horses headed in different directions.

The creator is love. The ego is lack.

At any moment you are choosing between one or the other.

The ego wants the things it wants because it perceives it’s lacking something.

The creator wants to give endlessly to creation, because it knows it has enough.

But don’t ever forget that you, too, are part of creation. And you came here for a reason.

You have a destiny to fulfill. And it’s through the fulfillment of this destiny that you will be able to give the greatest gift to creation.

Don’t ever deny your destiny. Denying yourself and your destiny isn’t doing a favor for anyone.

Honor yourself. Honor your desires. Just don’t let them be perverted by the ego.

The ego sees judgement. The creator only sees love.

Love your body, love your ego, love your possessions…just don’t let them run the show.

Ego Pleasure

Keep things in their proper perspective and you will find that it IS possible to “gain the world” and your soul at the same time.

I always make the best sales calls when I’m not focused on what I want.

I always have the best conversations when I’m not worrying about what to say.

I always have the best sex when I’m not thinking.

Just do. Just love. All good things will flow from this space, I promise you.

Just be there.

Just be present.

All good things will flow from here.

Once you’ve decided to serve love over lack, then you can simply stop thinking and start doing.

Now go forth and create…with magnificence!

When you come ’round I never get down, I fly across the floor
I can see you comin’ on me and I can’t ask for more

You got my motor racin’
I find my thoughts embracin’ your every move

-Billy Squier
