I’ve heard a lot of people tell me that they can’t do something they want to do because they’re being held back by their circumstances.
Yet there are people who have had similar (or worse) circumstances that managed to figure it out. And I’m not sure exactly how many examples it would take to convince someone that they’re full of shit, but it’s probably closer to infinity than it is to one.
Whether it’s bills, mortgages, family, or some health-related problem…there are an over abundance of people out there claiming that they can’t follow their heart or pursue their destiny because of situations outside of themselves.
Not to mention that I’ve recently read an article about a paralyzed man who was hit by a bus while in his wheelchair. Could you imagine that misfortune? Here you are, paralyzed…and then you get hit by a bus.
His wife left him, he had no money, and nobody would hire him. So instead he created an internet company from his hospital room and in two years he became a multi-millionaire.
The man said in his article that if anyone had excuses it was him. But he knew it was his destiny to endure the immense pain of this unfortunate event and still manage to build something bigger than himself.
It’s just so crazy to me that people say things like, “I don’t have time to pursue my destiny.”
What the hell, man. Then what do you have time for?
Many people with great families have gone on to do amazing things with their lives. Many of them also had mortgages. And many people who’ve struggled with their mental/physical illness or disability have gone on to conquer their fears, take control of their time, and do amazing things with their lives.
The thing you have to realize, comrade, is that the day-to-day grind will always be there. You will never be finished.
You can’t count on life to give you a free pass. You won’t just suddenly wake up one day with an overabundance of time and resources. It is up to you to make the time and find the resources. Life very rarely gives free passes to people…and when it does, they usually end up right back in the same situation they were in.
If you’re stressed out about all of the things you need to do, the best medicine is to just move toward your destiny. Start changing your focus from “Omg, I have to do this thing.” to “I’m going to start doing this other thing.”
It’s not like you’re going to forget about the things you have to do. You’ll get everything done. It’s just a matter of shifting your primary focus.
All the to-do’s will be there…they’ll always be there.
So why not just get them done and, in the meantime, figure out a way to move on to bigger, better things?
You didn’t come here to do busy work. You came here for destiny.
Don’t wait another day…just do something, no matter how small, to begin to shift your focus away from the “have to’s” and towards the “want to’s.”
“Someday…” is just another excuse.
Because “someday” never actually comes.
